Model T Ford Touring
1922 Touring Model T Ford
I will feature on this web site this 1922 Touring Model T Ford and what has happened with the repairs over the last two years. However, you will find other Models that belong to club members and photos of club tours within the last three years. This will not be a technical site for teaching by any means. In our State I would suggest going to the Towe Museum for that kind of info. Here you will find what a person can do with a lot of help from folks who have spent years around these cars. I have never done anything like this before and if I am able to share what it was like for me, then maybe you will find this of interest to you. I can say this, if you love cars and had some fun with V-8's and such but never thought to try a old car like these, by all means, find someone with an old car like this and ask for a ride. It will be more rewarding than you might have thought. Lets see if I can help you try this hobby.

Now if you click on the photo of the Model T Ford, you will be taken to a private showing of this Model T when we dug it out of the 43 year hiding spot it was in. This is a compleat photo album of that day and what we had to do to get it to our home. I think you will enjoy these pics.

It's Not About Speed
You may already know a lot about these cars and and I am sure you may already have more info than I. But with that said, you will see that this is not about speed. It can not be. These cars have the first of everything and have not had the years of learning what makes a car a smooth ride like todays cars with disk brakes and automatic transmissions along with heaters and air conditioning. You would be lucky to have some of these, but it would take away a lot of the fun of driving a basic car like this. When it comes to starting one up, you can have two options, hand crank or if you have an upgraded model you will have electric start. You can have one of two options for braking, the regular Band that your foot peddle will support by grabbing the transmission and slowing the car down, or a set of brakes called Rockie Mountains that work with the stock setup to give you an extra edge to slow yourself down. Don't forget the motor, it too can help bring you to a stop with a little thought. I will try later to talk about these steps in more detail so that you can feel like you are sitting with me from a start up, to a drive and then to a full stop.
